PCL Construction’s ongoing partnership with Microsoft, and it’s Azure platform teams, was showcased in the ‘Transforming your Business with Microsoft IoT’ keynote at the Microsoft Inspire Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Having Mr. George reference the great work PCL has been doing with Microsoft, and our Job Site Insights platform, is inspiring to our team as we work towards better building in the future, for both the industry, and most importantly our clients.” said Mark Bryant, PCL Construction’s Chief Information Officer.
Job Site Insights (JSI) is PCL’s Smart Construction platform of the future. Construction sites are instrumented with various IoT sensors throughout the life span of the project and the data collected is continuously streamed into the JSI cloud platform built on Microsoft Azure using the features and capabilities of Azure Maps and Azure IoT Spatial Intelligence. JSI visualizes the construction site, mapping the devices to spaces, equipment, assets and people, giving project staff a single pane of glass view of the digital job site.
Through the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies JSI analyzes the data and provides real-time actionable insights to the construction site staff, partners, and owners. Job Site Insights is making construction smarter by enabling lean construction, reducing costly rework and warranty claims, improving build quality, conserving energy, increasing productivity & safety, and reducing PCL’s carbon footprint.
